About

Our Story

Albanella Home is a housing and integrated services initiative for older adults in development in San Antonio, Texas. This page sets out why it exists, what it believes, the objectives guiding the work, and where the initiative stands today.

More Than a Residence

Albanella Home is being conceived as much more than a residence.

It will be a coordinated community where safety and independence can coexist; where families have a reliable ally; where veterans, caregivers and older adults facing barriers are received with respect; and where care is organized around the person, not the institution.

The model brings together dignified housing, daily support, health coordination, nutrition, transportation, family participation, wellness, safety and meaningful community life around each person.

Mission

What Albanella Home intends to do.

To create a safe, accessible and culturally sensitive home where older adults receive coordinated support, keep their independence, strengthen their relationships and live with dignity, purpose and belonging.

Vision

The future this work is meant to help create.

A future where every older adult, whatever their income, disability, language, veteran status or family circumstance, can reach a reliable home and a connected system of support.

Values in Practice

Four commitments that shape how the initiative is being designed and how it intends to work.

Dignity and compassion

We see the whole person and honor their preferences, history, identity and choices.

Safety and responsibility

We join care to documented standards, supervision, measurement and transparent stewardship.

Family and belonging

We build partnerships with families, caregivers, veterans, volunteers and the community.

Purpose and possibility

We protect opportunities to learn, connect, contribute, celebrate and live with joy.

Strategic Objectives

These objectives guide the initiative while it is in development. They describe direction and intent, not completed work.

Develop an accessible residential community for older adults in San Antonio.

Integrate housing, daily support, wellness, nutrition, transportation and family support.

Create practices trained for dementia, trauma and cultural diversity.

Develop pathways for veterans through qualified public and community partners.

Prepare a bilingual caregiver workforce and local careers.

Operate with transparent governance, measurable outcomes and responsible stewardship.

A Letter from Our Director

Dear future residents, families, partners and friends:

Albanella Home was born from a simple conviction: growing older should never mean losing dignity, choice, connection or the feeling of being at home. Every person carries a lifetime of relationships, achievements, traditions, sacrifices and dreams. Our responsibility is to honor that history while we build the support the next chapter requires.

We are creating Albanella Home as much more than a residence. It will be a coordinated community where safety and independence can coexist; where families have a reliable ally; where veterans, caregivers and older adults facing barriers are received with respect; and where care is organized around the person.

As we move forward with property acquisition, construction, partnerships, financing, licensing and operational readiness, we hold to disciplined planning and transparent stewardship. We will not measure success only by rooms built or services delivered, but by residents who feel known, families who feel supported and a community that grows stronger.

Thank you for believing in a home built with compassion, responsibility and purpose.
